Secure Shell

Access your UND Aerospace home-directory and account from on or off campus using a command line. SSH is an encrypted, secure method of communication. Features available are the ability to program your java or c programs remotely, using the files stored in your home directory, and send mail via the text based email client “pine.”

First, Download and install Xming server and Xming-fonts. Xming SourceForge Page

Open Xming, the icon will sit in your system tray.

Open putty

Check the Enable X11 Forward box and put :0 in the display location textbox.

Now open your program from the terminal, I chose to open Kate.
